Divorce

D-I-V-O-R-C-E, is never a good word. No it is not me getting divorced, but my sister. After 20 years together and 18 years of marriage, that ugly word blind sided her. It breaks my heart to see her so heart broken. She has always been more than a sister to me, she has been my friend.

She is beautiful, strong and smart, even though she doesn't realize that yet. Eventually after sometime she will stand strong. It just takes time, wounds need time to heal and regenerate. I have no doubt she will recover and be the master of her destiny.

While I could dedicate an an entire blog to how angry, saddened, and just plain ticked off I am at her husband, I won't do that. The details are neither here nor there, and no one needs dragged through the mud. It is not my style, nor do I find anything good comes out of bashing a person. Hate-tread only breads negativity, and who needs more of that in this world. I hope he finds what he is looking for, and someday has some remorse.

It's a New Year, and New Beginnings ! Hopefully The New Year will bring happiness, love, and prosperity to everyone. We will put behind the past, and concentrate on the here and now, and hope for a better future.

I did It !!

The fall semester is finally over, I survived, I did it. I have never been so relieved in life. The torture, deadlines and pure stress is over. I ended up with an A in Argumentative and Persuasion Writing, an A in Life Span Psychology, and ... drum roll...... a B in Anatomy and Physiology. Normally I would be devastated by a B, but let me tell you I am thankful, grateful, and ecstatic for that number 2 letter in the alphabet. 80% of the people fail that course online, but thank God I was not one of them. Yes my ego was a bit dented since it caused my GPA to drop from a 4.0 to a 3.75, but hey Life is Good ! I did it!

Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I had a lovely day. It was thrilling to watch the kids open their presents, and watch the excitement on their faces. Daniel tore through every present with pure determination. He couldn't contain his eagerness. With each one he would oooo and squeal with joy. He even shivered and shook with a few. Abigail was on the hunt. She could hardly wait to see if Santa brought her the skateboard scooter her heart so desired. Of course Santa came through and full-filled her dream. There has been scooter riding through out the house every since. She also received a baby doll that her and Daniel have been taking great care of. They are often seen pushing her in the stroller, giving her a bottle and singing to her. I even heard Abigail tell Daniel, " I will be the mommy and you be the daddy." They are like to peas in a pod. Of course Abby is a bit bossy telling him what to do most of the time, and dragging him by the hand everywhere. The older girls received the present to end all presents from my sister Trudy. A laptop, yes a computer for each of them. I swear I thought they were going to faint when they opened them up. I still can't figure out how they received such a gift. Of course I had that fleeting thought of ... Oh, Now I have something I can ground them from when they misbehave. I know, I'm a terrible mother lol. But hey, sometimes you need all the leverage you can get. I also mistakenly bought Paige a Flip camcorder. The child has been torturing me every since. I am just praying the video of me hula hooping on the Wii Fit, in my PJ's don't end up on u tube somewhere. Molly has been on her Wii Fit non-stop. Now instead of TV we all get to watch Molly jump around the living room. A very good time was had by all. It was a Christmas to go down in the books as fun, excitement and filled with laughter all.

My Day in the ER

Well after 3 days of being doubled over in pain, I finally went to the ER. I guess it is a good thing I went, but I am dreading the bill. Honestly I am keeping my chin up, but geeze I do wish I'd get a break once in awhile. I swear it is always one thing after another. I have diverticulitis and colitis, they gave me two rounds of antibiotics in the ER and sent me home with some more. I'm hoping the pain will go away in a few days, it hurts every time I move around. I have to be better by next week because I have finals. Life sure is an adventure isn't is ? :)

Halloween at Our House

I LOVE Halloween. It is one of my favorite times of the year. I just love all the spooks and specters. My DVR during Halloween is working overtime taping all the ghost shows for the season. This year Paige went to party with her friends, Molly trick or treated with her buddies, and Dan and I took the babies out for treats. Daniel was more preoccupied with peering in people's houses, trying to see if they had a dog, than he was with getting candy. By no means though does that mean he didn't love all the sweets in his bag. Abigail thought it was great. She couldn't wait to run to the next house to see what candy would be placed in her bag next. At the end they did get tired and we had to carry both back home. They spent nearly 2 hours knocking on each door. That was a lot of walking for those poor little legs. I took pics of the kids, but this year Molly evaded the pics. She took off with her friends before I snapped one. By the time she got home she had her costume off. Next year I will just have to be faster than her. I thought Paige looked awesome. She did a great job doing her make up. Abigail loved being a witch and Daniel would have did anything NOT to wear his costume. :).

My Mom Loves Sweets !

My mother has the biggest sweet tooth in the world. At night when everyone thinks she is asleep, I can hear her rattle candy wrappers munching away. My sister the great bargain hunter hit the jackpot after Halloween. She bought mom a TON of candy. My mom was thrilled ! She even posed with her mother load of confections.

Jack of All Trades

My father always said Jack of all trades, master of none. That about sums up me. I know a little bit of everything, but have no specific talents. It is driving me crazy. I see all these women turn something they love and are good at into a career. I don't need to be rich, but really need something that enables me to make money, and be able to take care of the kids at the same time. I wish I could sew or have some talent that I could turn into a little business, or a way to make some extra cash.

I'm Losing It!

I am losing it and on the borderline of going crazy. The feeling of being overwhelmed stings me straight down to my soul. There is no way I can accomplish everything that needs to be done. You can barely walk through this mess of a house. I spend all day cleaning up, doing laundry and taking care of EVERYTHING. I miss playing with the kids and taking them to the park. I am a married single mother taking care of 7 people. I better stop here because I will later regret what I blog now. I am just venting before I explode.

School is Getting Hard

I felt so good over the summer because I ended up with a 4.0 GPA. Now I am not so sure I will keep it. A & P is really hard over the internet. I wish I would have been able to take it in class. I'm sure I would have gotten an A if I had an instructor, instead of reading everything and learning it on my own. I heard that 80% of the people fail the course online. I'm hoping I won't be just another statistic. So far I am at a B, but I am only half way and have the final to contend with. I had an A before the midterm, and after that I lost a whole grade point. I really need an A to apply for the nursing program. I guess I will just hold my breath, study and pray.

She laughed and said she needed her hair done first :). I love my mom and I think she had a pretty good day.

Panic

OMG, I am completely panicking. I spent so much time moving and unpacking I did not get to my homework due this week. I haven't even studied yet for mid terms next week either. I don't know if I will be able to get it all completed. If I do, it will probably not be very good work. I have to write an essay on a research topic I haven't even started. I still have to pick another topic for another course and write research on that topic too. Next week I also have another essay due. I feel totally blind sided. To top it off I can't even get to the library since I don't have a car. This is the worst week I have ever had so far in college. I could honestly just sit and cry. I need several hours alone to write and research, but I don't have any one that can sit with the kids that long. The assignments are very time consuming and here lately at night I am too tired to do any of it. I keep falling asleep while I am reading and writing. There aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish everything.

Moved !

Well we are finally at the new house with mom and my sister. I thought we would never get moved out. I have never carried and packed so many boxes in my entire life. I actually filled a 30 yard dumpster, gave away about 7 truck loads of stuff, sent 2 truck loads to goodwill, and sold about 100 boxes at a yard sale. Now the bad news is, we have about 55 boxes of stuff to go through and sort out at the new house. Just this morning I sent another truck load to someone on freecycle, and took a box to the ebay store, for them to sell. It seems as if there is no end. I am having such a hard time trying to keep up with school, unpacking, cleaning, kids and everything else. I hope someday I can just sit down and relax. I don't know how much longer I can keep going at this pace.

College

Well I have to say it has been pretty hard this time, but I am managing to hang on :). I swear Anatomy and Physiology is like reading a foreign language lol. It might sound crazy, but I actually like taking the classes. I guess it gives me something of my own. I don't mind working hard toward a goal, and it feels good to accomplish something. I have my first paper due in argumentative and persuasive writing, and my first big test in A & P and Lifespan. I hope I do good. As they say, " Where there is a will, there is a way." I definitely have the will, now lets see if the way thing is true :). Time will tell.

Still Not Moved Yet!

Well my mom's house is actually sold and closed, but she is still not closed on the new house. It is taking forever and the company doing it has been awful. They were suppose to close us last Wednesday but then decided they needed to wait. Now we are suppose to close this Thursday. I hope they do, because we are suppose to be out of this house by this coming Sunday. Now we won't have the 10 days we anticipated on having to move. It is going to be a rush job moving it all. I ordered a dumpster today to get rid of all the junk in the basement and garage. It is going to be a HUGE job. I hope I am up to it. I will be glad when this is all finished. It has been very stressful, and I am tired. I sold about 50 boxes of stuff, gave away another 25 and took about 15 boxes to the goodwill. OMG it is never ending. I think we will end up filling the 20 cubic feet of the dumpster too!

My Star! Paige as Anne Frank! Newspaper Article!

Here is Paige as Anne Frank in the production of The Diary of Anne Frank. The play is being put on by a local theater company, and premiers Sept. 9th. I was excited to see a newspaper article about the play, and about Paige as portraying Anne Frank. I am so happy for her, and know she is excited to portray such a touching character as Anne. This is of course my favorite part of the article. Of course as a mother, you know we all love to brag about our kids. "A great Anne just kind of dropped out of the sky," Cooley said of Paige. "She's unbelievably natural ... I can't wait to see how the audience responds to her." She worked really hard to play this part, and I am very proud of her.

Busy Busy Busy

Well here I go again. I start school tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed that I do well. We should be moving in about a week or so. I have to time it right as to not lose an internet connection while moving. My classes are all online, so I can't go without a connection for any length of time. Everyone is excited about the move. Finally me and the girls will have a bed to sleep in. I am grateful for the couch, but hey a bed is a nice thing ;). No toilets that rock, sinks you can use in the bathroom, and OMG a dishwasher... lol.. I will be living like a princess. I told the girls that we want to keep everything tip top for mom. We want to treat her like the queen of her castle. Mom has never really had anything too nice, or even new. I am happy she will finally have something nice, clean and neat. I will make sure we keep it that way. Hubby got her a really nice couch and loveseat. It is like brand new. Someone was moving and going to get rid of it, so he figured it would be great for mom. She won't know what to do when we get there. I think she will be very happy there. It is the perfect place and house for her.

The doctor called my sister and my mom did have EKG changes. There was evidence of previous heart attacks. She is doing good, and will be discharged tomorrow and get to come home. This morning she was talking in her sleep and said, " Nana they fixed you, I missed you so very much." We will all be happy to have her home. My mom is happy to come home too, and can't wait to move. Mom Still in the Hospital

My mom is still in the hospital. Last night she had some chest pain, so they sent her to a telemetry floor so they could monitor her. I called this morning and all cardiac stuff came back clean. It didn't show anything bad. She is doing well, and her Coumodin level still continues to drop (which is good). The ENT came to see her and is leaving the tampon in her nose for now. They do not believe she is bleeding anymore. Just as a precaution, I think they are going to keep her another day. Once her coumodin level drops to almost nothing, she will probably come home.

911

I was getting ready to put stuff out for a garage sale yesterday and my sister called me in the house. My mom was bleeding from her nose and mouth. She is on a blood thinner and we had to call an ambulance. It took 5 hours to get the bleeding to stop, and they gave her 2 units of platelets. It ended up it was a nose bleed and was the most awful thing I have ever seen. I didn't know it could be that bad. She is doing well, but still in the hospital. They are keeping her there until her Coumodin levels drop off. She is fine and no more bleeding. They are keeping one side of her nose packed, and will probably take it out tomorrow and send her home. She will be fine and in great spirits. :)

She even made a special bed for teddy to sleep in, right next to her tonight. She can't wait til this weekend because she got a pool and tons of pool toys too. You know here lately it seems I just can't win. I tried to snake the tub today to unclog the drain. Well now I wish I wouldn't have done it. I tried routing the sink drain because they are connected. Well, I broke the pipe under the sink. It just figures. To top it off I couldn't fix the tub either. It will have to be pulled apart from underneath in the basement. I guess we will just go over my other sister's house to take baths. I think it is pointless to call a plumber. It would cost a ton and we will only be here a couple more weeks. This house is going to be torn down anyways.

Here a Move There a Move

Here a move there a move, everywhere a move, move. That seems to be the theme for this month. My sister's house sold, and she is moving in with my mom. We just moved in with my mom, and now my mom might be moving. It all almost feels like a game of musical chairs, but with houses. I swear I never want to look at another box as long as I live. I am so tired of moving, packing, cleaning, and dragging stuff, that I could actually be sick to my stomach. The good thing is we might have my mom's house sold, ( which is in really poor condition), and found a nice older house for her, but it has been all remodeled inside, and has a nice big private yard. Today we will find out the specifics, and an offer will be written on it, and on this house. I wish she could have gotten more for this house, but it just didn't happen. Keep your fingers crossed that it all works out for the best!

Allergies & Breathing Treatments

Poor Abigail is having a hard time with her allergies. Yesterday her eyes were swollen and red and she coughed and sneezed all day. After she took her allergy medicine she seemed to be better. But when we got up this morning she was wheezing something terrible. I had to take her to the Doctor. They gave her a breathing treatment and prednisone. Now for the next 10 days she will take prednisone, and breathing treatments 3 times a day plus her regular allergy medicine. I think it is from all the dust and stuff here. We have been cleaning out everything everywhere and stiring a lot of it up. Once school is finished I am going to scrub everything clean. There is something here that she is allergic too. Hopefully once we are all finished she won't be bothered anymore.

Hubby barbecued, and boy does he do a wonderful job. He did chicken and ribs. They were awesome! Once again I find it is almost 230 in the morning and I'm not even in my PJ's yet. Changes & Moves

So much has happened since my last post. School as always is tons of work, but I am managing to hang on and complete everything so far. It is almost over and I can honestly say I am VERY happy about that. We did have a major event. We had to move. I have spent the last couple of days moving and packing. It has been one big headache that won't go away. Tomorrow we should have everything out, and I have to clean up the house. We put everything in storage and will be staying with my mom for awhile, until we get things figured out. Hubby's job has been tough and right now moving was the only decision we could make. Hopefully things will get better. I am trying to keep a positive outlook. Things can always be worse. So for now I am going to kick around a few boxes to get to the bed. I am completely worn out. I did manage to get my draft finished for my 2000 word essay and even take a mid term test in Psychology. Tomorrow I have to take a quiz and study for another mid term in algebra. I guess where there is a will there is a way. I really don't know how I finished everything. There is a lot to be said about no sleep and all work. It makes you really tired and cranky. Not to mention you look like crap. My eyes are permanently puffy and the dark circles make me look like a raccoon. Oh well, no one said life was easy. Sweet dreams all.

Gee it is only 3 a.m. and I finally get to go to bed. Last night I stayed up all night. I did not get to bed until 6 a.m. I had to finish a paper for psychology tonight, and last night it was English Comp. I don't even want to think about the 2000 word essay I have due this week. Plus the 2 mid terms I have, not to mention the other homework assignments. I am getting near the end of school and I guess they want us to go out with a bang. I haven't received my grade yet for my second Algebra test, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I ended up with a 92 for my first English Comp. paper, and still waiting for the grade on the second paper. I can't believe how much you have to write in English. I now have to finish a 2000 word argumentative essay, and then still one more before it is over.... UGH.. Now you understand why I haven't been around my blog lately. My words have been used almost up on English papers :). I have a lot going on besides school too. I don't even want to talk about any of it. Later I will probably vent about it, but now I just need to get through school, and take care of the kids. Well take care all. I gotta get some sleep. As my mother always says, " Morning comes early."

When It Rains It Pours

" When it rains it pours." I believe that is a good title for the week I have had. Earlier in the week my mom fell. She was alone and couldn't get up. Thank God I had called to check on her, and found out she she had fallen. My sister left work and met me there, and between the both of us we got her back up. God must have been watching out for her, because she didn't break any bones, or get cut. She is on Coumadin, so if she hits her head hard, or cuts herself she could bleed out. She did manage to hit her chin, and boy it left a terrible bruise. The bottom half of chin and mouth are still sore and bruised. To top that off I ended up in the emergency room at 3 a.m. July 4th. I swear I thought I was having a heart attack, and my back was killing me. I NEVER go to the ER. I have only been one other time to the ER and that time I ended up in emergency surgery. So you know if I went this time, it hurt really bad. Well to make a story short, I am at home, hence I didn't have a heart attack ;). They really don't know what was wrong. Maybe some sort of spasm in my chest and back. They gave me pain meds, which didn't work, but also gave me an anti-spasm med and that stopped the pain. So far it has not happened again. I hope it stays that way. With all that going on, I still have tons of homework, and have still been staying up almost all night to get it all finished. I will be so glad when it is over. BTW I got a 78 on my algebra test, and yes I cried all day about it. I have another test this week. Wish me luck. I really need to do good on it. Up until the test I had all A's. Go figure I do good then freak and mess up the test.

What a Day !

Boy what a day it has been. I am utterly exhausted. Little Mr. Daniel I believe has hit his terrible two's a bit early. Talk about your wild child. I believe "wild child" is his middle name. Today he managed to run and charge my mom's kitchen window. He went hands and head first completely through it. How he managed to do that, and not even get a scratch is beyond me. Thank God is all I can say, someone was surely looking out for him. But have no fear that was just the first item on his list of things to do. Just today alone, he has managed to dump a box of crackers, poor out a can of pop, spill a glass of tea, and play in a mug of water. As if that was not enough, he drew on the TV with crayon, drew on himself with markers, and even drew on me and my sister! Have no fear, he wasn't finished yet. Later he managed to eat a crayon, and followed that up by eating the tip of a marker. Yes I played the fetch it out game with him, but all that it accomplished was me getting bit. He swallowed it anyway. Thank God for non toxic markers and crayons. Oh, and by the way, the second crayon he ate must not have been his favorite color, he did end up throwing it up, and his milk he was drinking all over the carpet. And if that wasn't enough, if I recall correctly he did managed to tackle his sister, head butt me, and bite molly too. I think the only one safe from his escapades was his dad today! Talk about your little terror, geeze. I am hoping what ever spell he is under lately will soon subside and my little sweet boy will emerge again. From what I understand though, I think his early terrible two episodes might last a little while longer. I know this week we will definitely be working on the manner lesson with him! After all that though, I couldnt help but look at him tonight when he was falling asleep, and he managed to sing " I love You" from Barney as his eyes closed, and I thought awww, what a sweet little boy!

Howdy Y'all

Howdy Y'all. I have managed to crawl out of the piles of essays, algebra equations, and psych quizzes to post a Howdy to everyone. Of course it is just after 2am and I am still awake. At night is about the only time I have to finish homework. I need to really find a way to work on stuff during the day. My sleep deprivation is taking its toll. I can barely think straight anymore. I swear after all this, I better get into the nursing program, or I am going to cry for years to come. So far I have been keeping up on things. I hope I can continue to do so. I took my first proctored exam in algebra. I don't want to talk about it. I am not sure how well I did. If I got a good grade I will post about that later. If I didn't, well, I'm not going to talk about it ;). I just wanted to check in and let everyone know I am still alive and kicking. Well kicking slowing, due to the lack of energy to swing my legs, but kicking none the less :). I do know I'd like to kick who ever the hell invented algebra, but we won't go there. It is late and I am too tired to gripe. I am going to try and get some sleep. Hopefully tonight I won't dream of math or writing. I have been dreaming of it almost every night. I find that pretty unfair since I work have the night doing it, and then the other have dreaming about it. I must be being punished for something I did in a past life :). Take care all, and sleep well.

Here it is almost 3 am and I am still awake!

Okay here it is almost 3 am and I am still awake. No it is not because I have insomnia. I would actually appreciate some form of slumber, as my eyes feel like they have sand in them. I am doing homework. OMG I never expected this much work! It is unreal the things I have had to read and write, just in the first week of school. It is unreal! I even had to write for my algebra course. Believe it or not I had to write a math autobiography. I'd explain that one too you, but I am too tired. I have written around 2000 words of essays, discussion board questions, and more. At least tonight it is only 3 am. Last night I was up til 430 am. I really need some prayers! Please pray that I can keep up with all the work. I also need someone to pray for my memory. I don't know if it is because I am older, but I am finding it difficult retaining and remember all the stuff that I am suppose to. I will try and post every couple of days. If you do not see any postings for a few days, realize that I am stuck in cyberland, some where between psych, algebra, or some MLA style website, trying to learn how to format my essays for English Comp. I must bid goodnight at this point. My fingers can barely stroke the keys. I have only a few hours before Miss Abigail and Daniel will be up wanting their breakfast. I never thought I'd be changing diapers, writing essays, and doing algebra at this stage in my life. Isn't funny how life happens!

Monday is the Day

Okay, well school starts Monday, and I am excited and freaked out all at the same time. I actually gutted the whole entire house, (except my bedroom), cleaned and got rid of tons of stuff. I figured it would be easier to handle once school stared. I even made a play room for the little ones downstairs where the computer is. I thought maybe they might play while I do work online. We shall see how that works out. The last room I still have left to clean out is my room. I think everything from the house ended up there. I don't even feel like dealing with it, but hopefully I will get to it tomorrow and be done with the whole thing. I'm taking a day off today and entering sweeps :). I haven't entered in a couple of months, because of the whole dial-up issue. Now with cable I can't wait to do some. I hope I win something this month ;). A computer would be nice, but I won't hold my breath. I'm sure it will be something more like a CD or a T-shirt ;). But hey, a win is a win. I'm always happy with what ever it is I get.

Comcast Cable

The wait is finally over. I am living in modern times again. No longer are the days of slow dial up, no long distance, and free TV. As you might have gathered from some of my other post, I got into a spat with our local phone company, and dropped everything but a basic phone, and went back to dial up. I am happy to say that I never have to deal with them again. I signed up for the triple play with Comcast. So far I am thrilled. My Internet flies, much fast even than my old DSL. I have over 200 channels of TV that I probably won't watch :), (hubby & the kids will), and omg long distance. Not only can I call all of the whole USA, but Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and Hawaii. Not that I know in Puerto Rico, Guam, or Hawaii, but hey if I wanted to, I could call for free ;). I got a really good deal. I am paying almost the same price I was paying for just DSL, and a basic phone. I couldn't believe how cheap it was. Now I can finally post some pictures! I can hardly wait. I just have to buy some more rechargeable batteries now, lol. Now I am off to surf the net at lightening speed!

My Mom is Home

I am so glad my mother got to come home today. Her lungs are much better, and she is doing well. She is on breathing treatments and medication, so she should do just fine. I wanted to say thank you to all of you who said a prayer for her.

Mom in the Hospital

I went to my mom's house today, and as I was walking in, her visiting nurse was too. My mom was coughing a lot and when the nurse checked her, her right lung was tight so it was suggested we take my mother to the emergency room. Well we did and they admitted her. She will be staying there a couple days for breathing treatments and medication. She has some problems with her lungs already, so they want to watch her too. My poor mom hates being in the hospital. Last October she had a stroke and was there for months. I hope she gets better soon, and comes home. I'd appreciate it if everyone would say a little prayer for her. Thanks :).

Iao Valley State Park Maui Hawaii

I decided to do my first slide show on associated content. It is of the Iao Valley State Park in Maui, Hawaii. It was really beautiful! The Iao Needle rock formation is 1200 feet tall, and was amazing to see. The state park is also considered sacred because of the battle between King Kamehameha and the Maui's army was fought there. The Kepaniwai Battle was fought in 1790, and changed the course of Hawaiian history. If you would like to check out the picture slide show, just follow the link!

Sold

Well I ended up only having the garage sale for one day. After the first day I was so tired, I didn't feel like doing it all over again. I packed up about 22 boxes and sent them off to Goodwill. I actually sold a lot of stuff. I just had too much to get rid of it all. I'm pretty happy with how much I sold and made. The grand total was around $240.00, so I can't complain. I did keep 4 totes of baby clothes. I only kept the clothes that were in mint condition, and will probably stick them on Craig's list. The funny thing is you can't tell how much I got rid of. My house still seems cluttered with stuff, go figure :).

Garage Sale

Omg, I don't think a person realizes how much stuff they have until they decide to clean out the house. I decided to have a yard sale and get rid of all that clutter. You know that stuff in totes packed away in the garage, the kid's clothes they out grew, and the toys they no longer play with. Not to mention all those too many nick knacks that only collect dust. I decided to really clean house, and have a yard sale. I swear I have been marking stuff for weeks. It is unbelievable all the stuff you accumulate in just a short time. Especially with two little ones. They outgrow clothes and shoes every couple of months. My biggest fear is that it won't all sell. I marked everything really really cheap, just to get rid of it. I did have a lady come by today and buy some baby clothes. Actually she filled her car up with stuff and spent $106.00. That is a lot of clothes, especially when you consider everything was marked .25 , .10, and .50. I think only a couple of things were a $1.00. Have no fear, I counted 14 more boxes of baby clothes that are still left, lol. I hope they all sell at the yard sale. Hopefully the weather will be good Thursday and Friday. Wish me luck!

Camp Was a Blast

We got back from Camp Tecumseh yesterday afternoon. I have to say that it was a total blast. I think the parents had just as much, if not more fun, than the kids. I swear it has been years since I have laughed so hard. I actually laughed to the point my eyes were watering. It looked like I was crying. The other moms were great, and a lot of fun. In fact it was me and another mom that got the giggles. Go figure, I don't think I've had the giggles in years.

Our camp guides were awesome. They had everyone, including the parents, laughing, singing, and dancing. They really did a good job entertaining everyone. That is hard work, doing what they do, day in and day out. The kids got to make candles, hike through the woods, visit a barn with animals, learn Indian sign language, make johnny cakes and biscuits on an open fire, ground corn, play pioneer games, and even attend an old fashion pioneer school. They learned how the pioneers lived in 1811. It really was educational and fun, all at the same time.

The weather was great our first day there. Nothing but warmth and sunshine. Thankfully, we got through almost all of the programs, and got to have our camp fire in the evening. The next morning was only a half day, and it poured rain. We were soaking wet. It was a bit miserable from the rain, but fun too. It isn't everyday I get to play in the rain. It reminded me of when when I was a kid, and love playing in mud puddles. I'm not sure the kids were that thrilled getting wet, but they all did great!

I absolutely recommend Camp Tecumseh to everyone. They have several different types of camp, and several different themes too. Molly is already asking me if she can go back this summer :).

Off to Camp in the Morning

Well I think I have everything packed. Little Miss Molly is so excited, I bet she doesn't sleep a wink. I'm hoping it doesn't rain. I guess it really doesn't matter, because they still participate in all the activities rain or shine. It would be nice though if we weren't soaking wet during the whole day. Of course I'm sure all the kids would think that was a blast :). It is a two hour drive, but I'm not riding the bus with the kids. I'm riding with another parent, who is taking luggage. I won't know what to do with two hours of quiet. I hope the babies will be fine while I am away. Little Daniel goes through separation anxiety if I just walk out of the house for a couple of minutes. He cries and stands in the window, it breaks my heart. Abigail is about the same way too. She does not like me out of her site. If I walk in another room, she is up and following me. Even when I cook dinner, she is between me and the counter most of the time :). I'm sure daddy will find something fun for them to do. If the weather is nice, he will take them to the park. They love that. Abigail lives for the park lol. As soon as she wakes up in the morning she is asking to go. I guess I am just a little nervous. It is the first time I have been away from the two babies overnight. I'm sure Camp Tecumseh is going to be a lot of fun. I will enjoy my time with Molly. I guess we are doing the program for pioneer living, and seeing how they lived, went to school and worked. Wish me luck! I'm sure I will have a lot to blog about when I get back!

Getting Ready For Camp

My daughter Molly is so excited! The entire fourth grade is getting ready to go to Camp Tecumseh. It is the big trip that fourth graders get to go on every year. I am pretty excited too! I get to go with her. I was a little worried when they said to pack a couple pairs of shoes, extra outfits, and make sure to have plastic bags for wet and muddy clothes lol! It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun! We get to build a bridge and make candles. We are leaving Tuesday morning and getting back Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. I'm sure I will need a vacation from our little vacation when we get back. From what I understand there will be non stop activities for the kids and adults to participate in. We get to learn how the pioneers lived and worked. Hubby is already counting the days and minutes until I get back. He is already panicking slightly about watching the babies. I figure now he will get a little taste of what I do everyday. The diapers, cleaning up messes, making endless snacks and wiping up endless spills. I am sure the house will be a disaster by the time I get home. Camp really should be a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to spending some time with Molly. This is going to be our special time together. With so much going on all the time, it is hard to get that special time with each kid individually. Oh I almost forgot. I have to remember to charge my camera up. I don't want to miss any of those Kodak moments!

Got My Books! OMG Geometry!

I'm already to go. I received my books for summer college. I must admit I opened up the algebra book and about fell over. OMG I don't know if I recall any of that stuff. It has been such a long time since I had to do any of that type of math. My heart skipped a beat when I seen they had a bunch of geometry in the book. I always hated geometry. I actually did not do well in high school when it came to that lovely class :). Fortunately my teacher was also the tennis coach. He made a deal with me. If I could learn to juggle 3 tennis balls, I would pass geometry. Guess what, to this day I can still juggle tennis balls :).

It's Official

It's official :). I am actually a college student. Everything has been sorted out, scheduled and paid for. Now all I have to do is order my books :). I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Now my biggest panic is trying to get A's in all my courses. I was told again today, that if I want to get into the nursing program I need to get all A's, and score high on the TEAS. I guess now all I have to do is work hard, and do the best that I can do. If it is meant to be, then it will happen.

When I was walking into the school today all those questions were running through my mind. Do I want to do this? Can I do this? How will I do this? and ect ect ect... Well as I was thinking all this, I reached into my pocket to put my keys in it and low and behold I had a pacifier in my pocket. I had to laugh. Here I am 40 years old, 4 kids, 2 of which are still pretty little, and I am starting college for the first time. I guess I love a challange. It is either that or I am just plain nuts. I told hubby tonight, " Just think when you go to bed tonight you will be sleeping with a college girl." I actually don't think he thought it was too funny lol. He didn't even laugh ;).

One In A Million

Okay, so I can't hit the lottery, but I can hit 1 in 1,000,000. I blogged earlier about signing up for college. I actually filled out all my FAFSA forms for student loans, grants and all that stuff you have to do. Now I have been calling the school for weeks, because it is not showing they have received my information. They keep telling me to call back next week. Today I found out they have my fall info but not my summer. It was filled 3 weeks later than my summer. So finally someone actually talks to me from the school and tells me to call the FAFSA people. Well I do that and all my information was processed back on April 6th. It is all completed, they have the information and sent it to the school. There is nothing else they can do. So I call the school back and she tells me they can't access it. She basically tells me oh well. So after a bit of chatting in a bit of a discussed tone, she finally agrees to have a manager look at it. Now guess what? I have to call them next week again and see what is going on. If I do not get all this sorted out by the time summer classes start I am screwed. It will put off what program I am trying to apply for, for another year. OMG go figure I am the one in a million form that someone messed up, and don't know how to fix.

Bills Bills and More Bills

I used to look forward to getting my mail each day. Now when I see the mailman I get an ache in my stomach. I know he is going to be bringing me some more of those unwanted bills. Things have been a bit tight around here lately and I swear it is driving me nuts! I will be glad when we get back on track. You know the old saying, " When it rains, it pours." I believe that saying was made for the motto of my life :). Well at least for the last couple of months. Hopefully now that the weather is picking up, we should be getting back on track soon. Hubby works in a sales market that is directly effected by the economy and to some extent by the season. Traditionally winter is always a tough time, but this time we got hit with a double whammy. People are not spending money as much as they used to. Hence commission jobs only got a big kick in the pants. I swear there is a permanent size 15 shoe print on our butts. I guess tonight I just had to vent a bit. I think the email I opened this evening did it. I actually got an email bill so to speak. A reminder that I owe yet for another school activity. Thankfully that I can pay :). I just thought to myself, omg now my email is nagging me too, lol. Bad enough I avoid the mailman, but omg not my email lol. I'm sure it won't be long until things are better. I guess it is just one of those day I'm having. Must be my hormonal pre-menopausal emotions kicking in. Gotta love being a woman! At least my hot flashes kept me warm this winter :). There is always something to be thankful for.

Happy Late Easter Everyone

We had a really good Easter. We had dinner over my mom's house and the kids colored eggs the night before. I think my mom will need a couple days to recoup from the little ones. We were over there late and once they get tired, they can get a bit wild :). I had to laugh. There were 4 adults and it took everyone one of us to chase, catch and manage Daniel and Abigail. While one of us were stopping Abby from pouring eye dye all over, the other was chasing Daniel before he reached the bathroom to play in the toilet. I think I will wait a few days before we go back to mom's house. I think she deserves a bit of a break :). The kids love to run, yell, push Nana in her wheelchair, and dump out anything they can find. Heck I need a break from that too from time to time :). Easter was a lot of fun, and I don't think I have laughed that much in a long time.

College

To go to college or not to go to College, that is the question I have been pondering for a very long time. Several years ago I actually got as far as admittance, taking the entrance exam, talking to counsellor and then stopping dead in my tracks. I freaked out and ended up not going. Shortly after that I found out I was pregnant, so the thought of going to college was placed far back in my mind.

The thought of College has now resurfaced. This time I got as far as actually registering for courses this summer. I must admit I am a bit nervous. I wonder how I will be able to study, take care of the kids, and keep the whole house running at the same time. My goal is to be able to apply for the RN program next fall. I should have my pre reqs completed by then. The only catch is I have to maintain a high GPA and score high on the TEAS exam. Without those two things, my chances of getting in the program are slim.

This summer I will be taking introductory to psychology, English Composition, and Basic Algebra. I figure the summer will be my test run. If all goes well then it's off to the Fall semester. I never realized just how scary going back to school could be. I think it really is just a matter of the unknown. Hopefully it all goes well.

Spring Break

The kids are thrilled that it's Spring Break. Now that they are all finished with the flu, they wanted to go to their nana's house today. They haven't seen her in weeks, and I believe my mother and my children were both going thru withdrawl. The older girls are staying the night there. My 10 yr old (Molly) actually went to the horse races with my sister and her hubby. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun for her. After she gets back she will go to my moms house and stay the night.

Today was a pretty fun day. We went to see the Easter Bunny and my little boy got his first hair cut. He did such a good job. He sat and let her buzz him with no problems at all. He laughed the whole time. I took tons of pics of course :), and saved some of his hair for his scrap book. He looks like such a little man now :). I will get some pics up as soon as I can. His before and after pics :). He really does look different!

Trip to The Emergency Room

Well today is the first day of fever free children. After my last post about everyone doing better, things took a turn for the worse. My 2 yr old ended up starting high fevers again, and quickly dehydrated. By late evening Monday, she wouldn't even stand or hardly move around. I ended up taking her to the ER. They gave her a liter of fluids because she was so dry. We had to wait there for hours until she could finally pee. I'm just happy that everyone is doing good now. 24 hours without anyone running a fever! I believe that is a new record in my house !!!

One Down Three to Go

Well as you all know our home has become a meg shift care center. With all the kids sick I have a med sheet with medications I have given everyone. I actually have to keep track of what med and times. I swear it is like working in a hospital. Thankfully one sick kid is better and only 3 more to go. The two little ones are doing good, just tired and hardly no fever left. My 10 yr old is still running lower fevers now. I'm hoping tomorrow she will be finished and able to go to school Wednesday.

The Terrible Twos

As parents I believe we should be awarded some sort of medal for living through the tantrums, screaming, and that ever so popular word toddlers love, "No." I have lived through the terrible twos twice, and I am currently reliving them again with my 1 and 2 yr old children. Influenza B

Well my 16 yr old daughter isn't any better today and my 2 year old is running a really high fever still. My 1 yr old is running fevers too, but not as bad as the other kids. I called the Doctor and they said to bring my oldest daughter back in, and bring the 2 yr old too. They decided to check them for influenza. The Doctor said he thought if it is the flu it should have already ran its course with my oldest daughter. Well, it ends up it is actually Influenza B. My poor kids are as sick as dogs. To top if off, when I got home from the office I found my husband with my 10 yr old at home. Apparently she started running a fever at school and they called him. Now all 4 kids are sick. I will be so happy when everyone is feeling better. It is awful to see all the kids so sick. Little Abigail (my 2 yr old) asked if she could have "pup cakes" (cup cakes). Of course I went and got her some, but my poor little girl couldn't eat them after all. She got sick :(.

The Sick House

My house has now become an impromptu clinic. I feel like I am working in the hospital all over again. Last week one of my daughters was sick. Now the other 3 kids are all sick at the same time. Mostly it is high fevers, chills, coughing, and generally achy all over. Unfortunately there is nothing the Doctor can do for them. We just have to wade it out with Tylenol and Motrin. I hope it doesn't last too long. This is the 4th day for my oldest daughter. The two youngest just started the fevers and coughing last night.

Celebrity Psychics

Okay, I admit it, I love the psychic medium John Edward. I have read everyone one of his books, watched all his television shows and even went to several of his venues. For all of you wondering, no I didn't get a reading. I probably won't be attending any more venues. I found out the prices for tickets have risen quite a bit.

If your like me, you might have wondered how much celebrity psychics like Sylvia Browne, Chip Coffee and John Edward charge. I decided to find out. I wrote an article detailing how much each one of them charge, and what you get for the money. It was pretty interesting. If you would like to read the full article here is the link:

Surprise Win for March

Wow, what a great day! I had to sign for letter today and much to my surprise it was a gift card to Kmart! I still haven't figured out which sweepstakes I won it from. There was no letter inside, just the gift card. I even had to call the number on the card to find out how much it was. You can imagine my surprise when I found out it was $50.00. Of course it will be put to good use. Diapers and diaper wipes :). I am really surprised too. I haven't been able to enter sweeps for a couple months, because of the whole DSL thing. Entering using dial-up just drives me nuts and half the time don't even work. Of course now I'm itching to enter some sweeps. Happy sweeping everyone! May you wins be many and BIG!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! What a beautiful day it was. Nice and warm. I didn't even need to wear a coat! We spent all afternoon at the park. My little ones were thrilled, and I am thrilled too! All that swinging and sliding wore them out. For the first time in months they actually went to bed early. (knock on wood, since I said that, with my luck they will wake up in the middle of the night lol. ) It was wonderful opening all the windows. The house always feels so stuffy after keeping the windows shut all winter. Don't you just love it when the weather warms up! I guess I shouldn't be bragging too much. I hear it is suppose to snow at the end of the week, go figure! I think it is mother nature just giving us a taste and teasing us!

Questions to Ask Your Fiance Before You Get Married

ok, I figured since I have been married 20 years there has to be something I might know about marriage..lol. I decided to write an article about What Questions you should ask your fiance before you get married. To keep all of you updated on how much my upfront payments are, this one netted me $2.31. That is not a fortune, but hey it will help me pay for my slow dial up connection ;). Besides, I had fun writing it. So far 87 people have read it! I hope you enjoy it. If you like it, don't be afraid to leave me a comment on Associated Content and here too! I love feedback!

I Love Writing

Update on my experience with Associated Content. The pay is not a lot. It is $1.50 for every 1000 page views. I guess that is good if you get a lot of people that read your article. I think it could take awhile for people to do that. I guess you never know. I believe it helps if you get a good fan base. Just like when blogging you have fans or followers. As you can see by my list of 3 followers at the moment, I am not what you would call a busy blog lol. It really doesn't matter, because I enjoy it and that's all that counts. I did have several articles get approved for upfront payment. I didn't start submitting them that way, until about the 10th one I wrote. I didn't think they would be interested in them. Much to my surprise they did offer me a couple dollars for the ones I did submit. I graciously accepted the offer. Now I wish I would have submitted them all for upfront payment. From now on I will do that.

My latest article is about entering Sweepstakes. It is a pretty long article. It is about tips and tricks that I find useful. I'm dropping a link here because it is too long to post the whole thing on my blog. It is easier to just drop the link. I think with most of my articles I will do that. Most of them are pretty long , and it is a lot to write on a blog. They have to be 400 words or more when you submit them.

No Light at the End of the Tunnel

Well it looks like I am going to be stuck with dial up for awhile. After 6 attempts, still no DSL. I have given up completely. I cancelled my order. I was afraid that if they finally did get it to work, and I had a problem with it later, it would take forever to fix it again. I didn't want to get in a contract for a year when I wasn't sure about the reliability. I guess I am going to have to give up and go back to my phone company for service. I was on a protest again my phone company. That's why I was trying to get it hooked up through someone else. I guess my protest has ended. Eventually I will suck it up, and call and have it installed through them.

Still Stuck in the Dark Ages!

Here is the latest news about my Dial Up Dinosaur. I am still stuck in the Dark Ages! My DSL didn't work. Go figure, just my luck! First it was that my connections weren't connected, what ever that means. They fixed that and still I see this annoying flashing green light, that lets me know my DSL still isn't working. Now they have to come out to the house and run the lines to see if there is a different problem there. Of course they can't make it out until Thursday. To top if off, they will be here anytime between 8am til 8pm. Nothing like waiting all day for someone to stop by. I am so keeping my fingers crossed that they will be able to fix it. I am honestly going nuts with Dial Up. Hopefully Thursday night I will again join the modern age, and surf the net with the speed of light! Well, maybe not that fast, but faster than Dial Up.
