My Mom is Home

I am so glad my mother got to come home today. Her lungs are much better, and she is doing well. She is on breathing treatments and medication, so she should do just fine. I wanted to say thank you to all of you who said a prayer for her.

Mom in the Hospital

I went to my mom's house today, and as I was walking in, her visiting nurse was too. My mom was coughing a lot and when the nurse checked her, her right lung was tight so it was suggested we take my mother to the emergency room. Well we did and they admitted her. She will be staying there a couple days for breathing treatments and medication. She has some problems with her lungs already, so they want to watch her too. My poor mom hates being in the hospital. Last October she had a stroke and was there for months. I hope she gets better soon, and comes home. I'd appreciate it if everyone would say a little prayer for her. Thanks :).

Iao Valley State Park Maui Hawaii

I decided to do my first slide show on associated content. It is of the Iao Valley State Park in Maui, Hawaii. It was really beautiful! The Iao Needle rock formation is 1200 feet tall, and was amazing to see. The state park is also considered sacred because of the battle between King Kamehameha and the Maui's army was fought there. The Kepaniwai Battle was fought in 1790, and changed the course of Hawaiian history. If you would like to check out the picture slide show, just follow the link!

Sold

Well I ended up only having the garage sale for one day. After the first day I was so tired, I didn't feel like doing it all over again. I packed up about 22 boxes and sent them off to Goodwill. I actually sold a lot of stuff. I just had too much to get rid of it all. I'm pretty happy with how much I sold and made. The grand total was around $240.00, so I can't complain. I did keep 4 totes of baby clothes. I only kept the clothes that were in mint condition, and will probably stick them on Craig's list. The funny thing is you can't tell how much I got rid of. My house still seems cluttered with stuff, go figure :).

Garage Sale

Omg, I don't think a person realizes how much stuff they have until they decide to clean out the house. I decided to have a yard sale and get rid of all that clutter. You know that stuff in totes packed away in the garage, the kid's clothes they out grew, and the toys they no longer play with. Not to mention all those too many nick knacks that only collect dust. I decided to really clean house, and have a yard sale. I swear I have been marking stuff for weeks. It is unbelievable all the stuff you accumulate in just a short time. Especially with two little ones. They outgrow clothes and shoes every couple of months. My biggest fear is that it won't all sell. I marked everything really really cheap, just to get rid of it. I did have a lady come by today and buy some baby clothes. Actually she filled her car up with stuff and spent $106.00. That is a lot of clothes, especially when you consider everything was marked .25 , .10, and .50. I think only a couple of things were a $1.00. Have no fear, I counted 14 more boxes of baby clothes that are still left, lol. I hope they all sell at the yard sale. Hopefully the weather will be good Thursday and Friday. Wish me luck!

Camp Was a Blast

We got back from Camp Tecumseh yesterday afternoon. I have to say that it was a total blast. I think the parents had just as much, if not more fun, than the kids. I swear it has been years since I have laughed so hard. I actually laughed to the point my eyes were watering. It looked like I was crying. The other moms were great, and a lot of fun. In fact it was me and another mom that got the giggles. Go figure, I don't think I've had the giggles in years.

Our camp guides were awesome. They had everyone, including the parents, laughing, singing, and dancing. They really did a good job entertaining everyone. That is hard work, doing what they do, day in and day out. The kids got to make candles, hike through the woods, visit a barn with animals, learn Indian sign language, make johnny cakes and biscuits on an open fire, ground corn, play pioneer games, and even attend an old fashion pioneer school. They learned how the pioneers lived in 1811. It really was educational and fun, all at the same time.

The weather was great our first day there. Nothing but warmth and sunshine. Thankfully, we got through almost all of the programs, and got to have our camp fire in the evening. The next morning was only a half day, and it poured rain. We were soaking wet. It was a bit miserable from the rain, but fun too. It isn't everyday I get to play in the rain. It reminded me of when when I was a kid, and love playing in mud puddles. I'm not sure the kids were that thrilled getting wet, but they all did great!

I absolutely recommend Camp Tecumseh to everyone. They have several different types of camp, and several different themes too. Molly is already asking me if she can go back this summer :).

Off to Camp in the Morning

Well I think I have everything packed. Little Miss Molly is so excited, I bet she doesn't sleep a wink. I'm hoping it doesn't rain. I guess it really doesn't matter, because they still participate in all the activities rain or shine. It would be nice though if we weren't soaking wet during the whole day. Of course I'm sure all the kids would think that was a blast :). It is a two hour drive, but I'm not riding the bus with the kids. I'm riding with another parent, who is taking luggage. I won't know what to do with two hours of quiet. I hope the babies will be fine while I am away. Little Daniel goes through separation anxiety if I just walk out of the house for a couple of minutes. He cries and stands in the window, it breaks my heart. Abigail is about the same way too. She does not like me out of her site. If I walk in another room, she is up and following me. Even when I cook dinner, she is between me and the counter most of the time :). I'm sure daddy will find something fun for them to do. If the weather is nice, he will take them to the park. They love that. Abigail lives for the park lol. As soon as she wakes up in the morning she is asking to go. I guess I am just a little nervous. It is the first time I have been away from the two babies overnight. I'm sure Camp Tecumseh is going to be a lot of fun. I will enjoy my time with Molly. I guess we are doing the program for pioneer living, and seeing how they lived, went to school and worked. Wish me luck! I'm sure I will have a lot to blog about when I get back!

Getting Ready For Camp

My daughter Molly is so excited! The entire fourth grade is getting ready to go to Camp Tecumseh. It is the big trip that fourth graders get to go on every year. I am pretty excited too! I get to go with her. I was a little worried when they said to pack a couple pairs of shoes, extra outfits, and make sure to have plastic bags for wet and muddy clothes lol! It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun! We get to build a bridge and make candles. We are leaving Tuesday morning and getting back Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. I'm sure I will need a vacation from our little vacation when we get back. From what I understand there will be non stop activities for the kids and adults to participate in. We get to learn how the pioneers lived and worked. Hubby is already counting the days and minutes until I get back. He is already panicking slightly about watching the babies. I figure now he will get a little taste of what I do everyday. The diapers, cleaning up messes, making endless snacks and wiping up endless spills. I am sure the house will be a disaster by the time I get home. Camp really should be a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to spending some time with Molly. This is going to be our special time together. With so much going on all the time, it is hard to get that special time with each kid individually. Oh I almost forgot. I have to remember to charge my camera up. I don't want to miss any of those Kodak moments!

Got My Books! OMG Geometry!

I'm already to go. I received my books for summer college. I must admit I opened up the algebra book and about fell over. OMG I don't know if I recall any of that stuff. It has been such a long time since I had to do any of that type of math. My heart skipped a beat when I seen they had a bunch of geometry in the book. I always hated geometry. I actually did not do well in high school when it came to that lovely class :). Fortunately my teacher was also the tennis coach. He made a deal with me. If I could learn to juggle 3 tennis balls, I would pass geometry. Guess what, to this day I can still juggle tennis balls :).

It's Official

It's official :). I am actually a college student. Everything has been sorted out, scheduled and paid for. Now all I have to do is order my books :). I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Now my biggest panic is trying to get A's in all my courses. I was told again today, that if I want to get into the nursing program I need to get all A's, and score high on the TEAS. I guess now all I have to do is work hard, and do the best that I can do. If it is meant to be, then it will happen.

When I was walking into the school today all those questions were running through my mind. Do I want to do this? Can I do this? How will I do this? and ect ect ect... Well as I was thinking all this, I reached into my pocket to put my keys in it and low and behold I had a pacifier in my pocket. I had to laugh. Here I am 40 years old, 4 kids, 2 of which are still pretty little, and I am starting college for the first time. I guess I love a challange. It is either that or I am just plain nuts. I told hubby tonight, " Just think when you go to bed tonight you will be sleeping with a college girl." I actually don't think he thought it was too funny lol. He didn't even laugh ;).
